Let Them Know Where You Are As the holiday season approaches and people begin to review their Christmas card lists, the Transition Center staff wants to be as helpful as possible in making sure ex-mill workers are able to send greetings to their friends. The Transition Center staff will print the names and addresses of interested individuals in an upcoming newsletter when written permission is granted.
To get your information printed, send us a letter or postcard stating your permission to print whatever information you would like to disclose: name, address, phone number, fax number, email address-you name it! Our address is listed on the hompage. Hope to hear from you soon.
ON THE WEB
Are you on the Internet? Do you have an e-mail address? If so, let us know! It is an easy way to get you information that otherwise may be missed if all we have is a phone number.
We also have a web page for the transition center!

If you would like to contact any of us here by e-mail we all have similar addresses, they are:

Greetings, from the Job Service Desk. I am back for a tour of duty ending December 31st. For those that have not come into the Center yet, hurry on down. There are some wonderful resources to assist you with your re-employment needs and a GREAT team to guide you along any unfamiliar paths. Many of you have already settled into a 'good job' but there are still some of you looking for permanent employment or even a temporary job until you find permanent employment. Stop by at the Center where your *friends are helping friends*.
We have a JOB CLUB every Tuesday afternoon. Here we share job information and leads, especially the ones that I have held over for those in attendance to have the first crack at. We practice interview questions, and much more. Come join us!
Those not familiar with searching for jobs on the Internet, stop by and I'll set you up at a computer and get you started. There are so many resources out there with information about jobs available. I am also working closely with local employers for any possible Job Developing opportunities.
My e-mail address is: Noni_Woodruff@ajcn.state.ak.us Also remember to listen to KRBD and KTKN radio stations when each day, I highlight a few of our jobs from our job list. Keep in touch and let me know what I can do to help you with your re-employment needs.

New Chance Update
Classes offered are Career Explorations, Computers for Beginners, and Academic Skills. Take one, two, or all three of the classes.
If you are a dislocated worker, and would like to seek further training or learn some effective job search techniques, stop by the New Chance Center at its convenient second floor location at the Plaza Port West Mall, next to The Bon Marche for Kids. Come and meet our friendly staff and tour our classroom. Or give us a call at 225-5230. Let New Chance be the key to your future! KCTC Grievance Policy All non-program (TAA, JTPA) grievances will be resolved through the grievance procedure established by the Transition Center Committee. If you have an issue that needs resolution, please fill out the information requested on the form and place the form in a sealed envelope. Submit the sealed envelope to the receptionist. The receptionist will put this sealed envelope in the Committee's mail box. A Committee member will check the mail box daily and if an issue or issues have been submitted to be grieved then the Committee member in receipt will notify the other voting members of the Committee of the grievance.
You will receive a letter within a week letting you know the Committee is in receipt of your grievance. The three Committee members you select to hear your grievance will meet as soon as possible to do so. You will be notified, by mail, as soon as the Committee makes a decision in regard to your grievance.
The forms and envelopes can be pick-up at the front desk from the receptionist. Keep in mind that the center is here for you, the dislocated worker, and it is your job to make sure you receive the services you deserve.
Let New Chance be the window to your future! The Success Corner

How 'Bout Lunch? The day before you wish to serve the dish, season the venison with salt and pepper. Combine the wine, vinegar, bay leaves, crushed peppercorns, thyme, crushed juniper berries, and rosemary in a large shallow baking pan. Add the venison and marinate the chops, refrigerated, for 24 hours, Turing occasionally.
Preheat the oven to 400. Remove the venison from the refrigerator and drain, reserving marinade for the sauce. Place a large skillet over high heat and add the butter. When the pan is almost smoking, add the chops, and sear for 2 minutes, turn the chops, and cook other side. Transfer to oven and roast 4 to 6 minutes, or until cooked to desired doneness.
Remove and allow to rest.
While the meat is resting, return the pan to high heat and add the reserved marinade. Add the currant jelly, stirring to incorporate. Whisk in butter, 1 tablespoon at a time. Check the sauce for seasonings and adjust with salt and pepper if necessary. Serve chops with sauce. Need Someone to Talk To?
